The historic old Litchfield Train Depot, built more than 80 years ago, was moved on Feb. 24, 2009, from its original location near Litchfield Road and Maricopa County 85 to a new location nearly three miles away.

What we do

The State of Arizona celebrates its 100-year birthday on February 14, 2012. This 22-member Committee will be charged with identifying and developing legacy projects, and making recommendations to the City Council for planning, promoting and organizing such projects. The Centennial Committee will be tasked to study the options to restore the historic train depot station, and offer recommendations to the City Council, with the goal of situating the depot in a permanent location and completing restoration in time for Arizona's Centennial Celebration on February 14, 2012. Final approval of legacy projects shall be made by majority vote of the Mayor and Council.
